Overview
This project was a complete redesign of the previous powerbar.com so we implemented the whole site from scratch. My role was to Lead the front end development.
Tech
The development was divided in 2 phases:
- static front end build
- front end build integration into Umbraco
As part of phase 1, we built the whole front end using Middleman a ‘static site generator’ framework built in Ruby. As part of phase 2 we integrated everything into Umbraco (MVC .NET framework) using Visual Studio. Since the front end team was using MacOS, we were able to run Visual Studio thanks to Virtual Machine (VirtualBox and VMware) running Windows images.
The entire front end was built and tested for cross-browser compatibility supporting IE7+
